Inspired by the familiar gathering spaces under HDB blocks, we built cardboard furniture like tables and chairs for the Asian Civilisations Museum as part of the exhibition Let’s Play. This exhibition incorporates playable interactives and supersized nostalgic game installations, bringing together design and fun in meaningful ways.
Our cardboard design blends cultural memory with modern aesthetics, providing a sustainable, interactive space for museum visitors to experience Singapore’s shared history. Entirely crafted from sturdy corrugated boards, the set echoes the warmth of community and everyday heritage while promoting sustainability. This cardboard installation encourages engagement with the public, a space where visitors can gather, sit, and connect. Through cardboard interaction, the piece sparks conversations, invites play, and strengthens bonds across generations!
