Like every year, WorldSkills Day 2025 brought together a powerhouse mix of creativity, innovation, and skills across diverse industries. And this year, we proudly represented the Creative Industry sector alongside Temasek Polytechnic, flying the flag for sustainability, design thinking, and of course—cardboard carpentry!
From the moment the doors opened, our booth became a buzzing hub of curiosity and excitement. Designed entirely using slotting methods and held together without glue or screws, our zero-waste booth structure became a true conversation starter.
Booth Built to Inspire
Display Zone
A mini cardboard gallery of our past works—ranging from large-scale event pieces to intricate cardboard art—this space sparked “wow” moments left and right. Many students were surprised to see just how far cardboard can go beyond packaging.
Interactive Zone
The Tangram Puzzle Game drew crowds all day long! It wasn’t just a game, but cognitive play with a purpose. As students attempted to solve the puzzle, they discovered whether they were more left- or right-brained, all while getting a hands-on feel for how engaging cardboard can be.
Workshop Experience
The highlight for many — definitely the hands-on cardboard workshop! We rolled in our mobile boombox setup and introduced students to design thinking through the creation of their very own cardboard phone holder. Simple, smart, and sustainable, this mini project allowed students to explore how a soft material like cardboard can be transformed into something clever, functional, and cool enough to bring home!
WorldSkills Day reminded us why we do what we do. We’re not just building booths or hosting workshops—we’re helping shape the next generation of creators in the education sector. By showcasing the potential of sustainable materials and zero-waste practices, we’re planting seeds of innovation that go far beyond the event floor!
