As Singapore’s grandest street art parade continues to evolve, this year’s celebration at Ci Yuan Community Club takes on a special flavour—one that’s deeply rooted in the heart of our local hawker culture. Flavours of Our Community — a spectacular co-created art installation that’s as rich in meaning as it is in design.
A Feast for the Eyes and the Soul
This installation is a pop-up tribute to the hawker culture that defines Singapore’s unique community spirit. Food has always been more than just sustenance; it’s a universal language that bridges generations, backgrounds, and cultures. Whether it’s sharing a platter of satay or debating over the best food, hawker centres are where bonds are forged. And what better way to celebrate this than through art?
Our installation reimagines iconic hawker dishes using sustainable cardboard, bringing to life larger-than-life renditions of your favourite local delights. But beyond the visuals, this installation is a powerful symbol of connection—a reminder that just like a hawker feast, great things happen when people come together!

Made WITH the Community, FOR the Community
What makes this installation truly special is the people behind it. Flavours of Our Community was co-created through hands-on workshops with students from Bowen Secondary School, residents from Ci Yuan Hawker Centre, and participants from MINDSville@Napiri. Their creativity, passion, and dedication transformed simple materials into a vibrant, eco-friendly masterpiece that tells a collective story. Through these series of workshops, participants weren’t just creating art—they were building connections, sharing stories, and discovering new ways to express themselves. This process of co-creation adds a personal touch.
Our core value is when Sustainability Meets Creativity!
As we celebrate Chingay 2025, we also celebrate the shift towards sustainability. Using cardboard and paper as our primary medium, this installation champions the idea of eco-friendly creativity. It’s a beautiful reminder that art doesn’t have to come at the expense of the environment—it can be both stunning and sustainable!
