In an era of rapid change, how do we hold on to the magic of our childhood? This year, we bring a wish to life, a luminous time machine that bridges the playgrounds of our memories with the present day, reminding us of the hopes and dreams that shaped who we are.
At the heart of our float stands the iconic Dragon Playground, reimagined as the physical embodiment of that wish. No longer just concrete and mosaic, it rises as a holographic, illuminated installation, a shimmering fusion of nostalgic form and modern brilliance. Surrounding it are cherished symbols of a simpler time: the fluffy bear we hugged to sleep, the beloved chou chou, the rhythmic play of Five Stones tossed into the air, and the familiar glow of a Game Boy screen lighting up our afternoons, each representing a childhood wish filled with joy, wonder, and imagination.
One of the design is the tomato mascot, integrated into the Game Boy element as a playful nod to classic pixelated games, while the Kolam Ayer Bridge is woven into the float’s structure as a symbolic pathway connecting past memories to the present. A wish is not just something we make in the past, it is something we carry forward. By bathing these childhood icons in futuristic light, we invite audiences to reconnect with the wishes of their younger selves, and to rediscover a world where play was effortless, imagination was limitless, and happiness was wonderfully simple.
